Police are seeking the public’s assistance with recovering jewelry they say was stolen in a New Year’s Eve burglary in Waimea.

Officers responded about 3:30 p.m. Dec. 31 to a home on the 66-1700 block of Kawaihae Road.

The resident reported he arrived home and saw an unfamiliar adult woman leaving his house. The man reported multiple missing jewelry pieces.

Officers recovered some of the jewelry, but several pieces remain missing. According to police, they include: a five-carat diamond tennis bracelet; 18-carat woman’s sapphire ring; 14-carat diamond anniversary band; 1.4 carat ring, size 7.5; Mein Schatz gold bracelet; aquamarine stud earrings; Niihau shell necklaces; and pearl necklaces.

Police say they have information that some of the jewelry might have been sold to individuals who were unaware the items were stolen.

Anyone who might have purchased any of the described items or anyone with information about the jewelry is asked to call the police nonemergency number at 935-3111 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
